The plays have all been staged within the last ten years and deal with a diverse range of issues: racism [as addressed in Isithunzi; patriarchy and the broader imbalances of gender relations [as explored in Sleeping Dogs and Finding Me]; the spectre of homophobic attitudes [as represented in The Couch]; issues of political corruption and misgovernance [as dealt with in The Good Candidate and Shoes and Coups]; the education system [as highlighted in Iziyalo Zikamama]; and, finally, the unresolved issues contributing to the burnout/sellout of the seeming ‘progressives’ of the 1980’s that continue to spawn violence and mistrust [as dissected in Book Marks].
