Tinofireyi Zhou’s practice spans from reading to drawing lines and letters (on pages, walls or virtual worlds). He rummages through previously loved items in record stores, charity shops and homes in search of (lost) stories. His earliest recollection of profound listening (in his formative years) involves a psychedelic jazz-rock record. In 2015 he co-founded a series of Pan African sonic séances tentatively titled Revolutions Per Minute, and the year Robert Mugabe fell from power he was working as a vinyl librarian in Harare. He likes to make Pause-tapes in his downtime.
