Join us on Saturday the 28th of September from 2pm as we officially open the doors of The Commune, a radical, welcoming and community-centred bookshop in the heart of the city. Be among the first to explore our carefully curated book collection, which reflects our collective commitment to revolutionary politics and covers everything from grassroots social movements, decolonization and environmentalism to queer theory, disability studies and prison abolition, with plenty of room for art, poetry and fiction.
To mark this event we will be hosting an inaugural panel discussion on the relevance and importance of radical spaces. The conversation will focus particularly on the crises of xenophobia, gender-based violence and femicide.
After the panel, eclectic up-and-coming seven-piece band Sun Xa Experiment will create a live sound journey for us.
Assorted warm and cold drinks will be available and there will be a 10% discount on all books at the opening.
